PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator with superior energy saving performance, and suppressing temperature unevenness in an interior of a refrigeration compartment by suppressing heat loss in the refrigeration compartment. SOLUTION: In the refrigerator, at least the refrigeration compartment 2 is provided in a heat insulating box, a single cold air duct 11 with a width comparatively narrowed with respect to a back face width of the refrigeration compartment 2 is provided on a back face of the refrigeration compartment 2, and a plurality of side face discharge openings 33 is provided on the cold air duct. A cold air directing means is provided for directing cold air discharged from the side face discharge openings 33 toward an oblique forward of the refrigeration compartment.
