PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner solving the problem of being impossible to stop the operation of a brush alone, when the operation of the brush is unnecessary. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner includes: a body having a motor positioned in the inside and sucking air, a suction port formed in the back for sucking air of the motor, an adsorption part formed in the front for sucking foreign matter, and a foreign matter outlet formed in the adsorption part; a suction hose having both ends connected to the suction port and the foreign matter outlet and functioned as a suction passage; a brush connected to the adsorption part and being actuated by a brush motor for beating textiles and a cleaning part to remove dust; and a brush switch for controlling the brush motor by the connection/disconnection between the foreign matter outlet and the suction hose.
