PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical filter for display which can be manufactured at low cost with high productivity on the whole, and to provide the optical filter for display. SOLUTION: The optical filter 50 for display has a metal mesh pattern 22 formed on one surface of a transparent base 21 by stacking a mesh pattern formed of a thin film of conductive metal and a plating layer thereupon and also has an electrode frame 23 formed at a periphery of the metal mesh pattern 22, wherein at least an ultraviolet-ray absorbing layer 42, a near-infrared-ray absorbing layer 43, and an adhesive layer 44 are stacked in order on the metal mesh pattern 22 in the electrode frame 23 and one or more function layers 40 selected from a group of a hard coat layer, an antistatic layer, an antireflective layer, and an antifouling layer are provided on the other surface of the transparent base 43.
