PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both of reduction of the vibration of an optical scanner, and suppression of the displacement of an optical element due to deformation of an optical box, to improve image quality. SOLUTION: The optical scanner has: a plurality of light sources for radiating laser light modulated according to image information onto corresponding image carriers; a deflector which perform deflection scan of the laser light emitted from the light sources; an imaging lens which images the luminous fluxes scanned with the deflector; a reflection mirror which guides the luminous fluxes scanned with the deflector to an imaging face; an optical box which has a support part, which supports those components and is supported on a frame composing an image forming apparatus, and an open part; and a cover which covers the open part of the optical box, wherein a plate-shaped beam which is fixed at two points in the vicinity of the fixing part at which the beam is fixed on the frame is provided on the side of the open part of the optical box.
