PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting incorrect connection of a control valve in a compressor with control valve, capable of detecting that connection relationship between an intake flow regulating valve and a controller has been reversed and incorrectly connected, and to provide a compressor with control valve. SOLUTION: A compressor 1 compresses a gas sucked from a suction pipe 21 and discharges it from a discharge pipe 22. A suction flow regulating valve 3 provided on the suction pipe 21 makes an opening degree thereof variable in response to an instruction pulse, and controls a flow rate of a gas flowing to the compressor 1. A controller 5 provides instruction pulses to the suction flow regulating valve 3 to control an opening degree thereof, and controls a compression operation of the compressor 1. The controller 5 determines that a connection relationship between the suction flow regulating valve 3 and the controller 5 has been reversed and incorrectly connected, from the fact that a pressure of gas inside the suction pipe 21 is lower than a specified value within a predetermined period in the first compression operation of the compressor 1 after performing a base-point indexing.
