<p>This invention provides a process for producing a lithographic printing plate material, which has excellent coatability and properties (sensitivity and development latitude) even in simultaneous multilayer coating, has improved productivity, and can realize infrared laser exposure, and a lithographic printing plate material. The production process is a process for producing a lithographic printing plate material comprising an aluminum support and a photosensitive layer provided on the aluminum support, the photosensitive layer being formed of a laminate of lower and upper layers containing an alkali soluble resin and a photothermal conversion compound. The production process is characterized in that the lower and upper layers are formed by simultaneous multilayer coating with a slide-type coater or an extrusion-type coater, and the time taken from the simultaneous multilayer coating to the introduction of the assembly into a drying zone is 0.5 to 20 sec.</p> |
