Provided is an eyeglass type image display device capable of displaying an electronic image over a see-through outside image at an arbitrary position within the field of view by dividing the pupil of an observer, even if any special eyeglass lens is not used. In a portion of at least one eyeglass lens (20R), there is formed a groove (30), in which a display bar (10) is fitted and fixed. The display bar (10) is equipped with a hollow cylinder member or a rod-shaped transparent member, and forms an optical path for guiding a display light incident on the rear end of the cylinder member or the like, in the longitudinal direction to its leading end. A reflecting member is arranged near the leading end of the cylinder member or the like, and this cylinder member is equipped at its leading end with an ocular window for projecting the display light having its optical path bent by that reflecting member, into the eye-ball of the observer. The optical path from the trailing end to the leading end of the vicinity of the ocular window or the cylinder member is equipped with an ocular optical system.
