PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television broadcast receiving system in which convenience for a user can be improved by enabling a receiver to easily transmit by radio to a remote controller side information or the like of data broadcast acquired from a broadcast station. SOLUTION: The television broadcast receiving system has a receiver which receives broadcast of a television broadcast station also accompanied with data broadcast and displays a video image relating to a television program, and a remote controller which remotely controls the receiver through radio communication. The receiver includes a remote controller information generating section for generating information to be transmitted by radio to the remote controller (remote controller information) and a radio transmission section for transmitting by radio the remote controller information to the remote controller. The remote controller includes a radio receiving section for receiving by radio the remote controller information, and a radio wave is used as a medium of radio communication from the radio transmission section to the radio receiving section.
