<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an illicit action such as card exchange that is problematic in introduction of a non-contact IC card system to an expressway toll collection system. <P>SOLUTION: The toll collection system includes: a means for writing license plate information and vehicle model information of a vehicle to an IC card at an entrance of an expressway; a license plate reading means for imaging the license plate of a vehicle the IC card of which is to be processed by a wireless communication means to read the license plate information; and a means for confirming the matching property of license plate information at the exit obtained by the license plate reading means with license plate information at the entrance obtained from the IC card by the radio communication means, collecting, for a vehicle the matching property of which can be confirmed, a toll based on the vehicle model information determined at the entrance, while interrupting, for a vehicle the matching property of which cannot be confirmed, the processing of the IC card by the radio communication means and reporting the result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
