PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for monitoring a parameter in a process capable of lowering power consumption and bandwidth requirements when the monitoring target parameter is transmitted to a monitoring application and preventing an intermittent interruption for interrupting or disturbing high-speed communication necessary for supporting monitoring and execution of a control algorithm. SOLUTION: Power consumption and the bandwidth requirements in transmitting a monitoring target parameter such as a monitoring application are lowered by the method and the device for monitoring a parameter in a process. Especially, only when a difference between the measured or calculated parameter and the latest transmitted value exceeds a limit after the communication of the parameter executed finally, or only when the time from communication of parameters executed at the last exceeds a predetermined refresh-cycle, a new monitoring parameter value is transmitted.
