PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical diffusion screen excellent in entire optical beam transmittance. SOLUTION: The optical diffusion screen reduces an absorption amount of image light in the vicinity of an apex of a solid shading layer to enhance the entire optical beam transmittance by providing shading parts 4 formed to be juxtaposed on an optical transmission substrate 1 at a prescribed interval, a solid transparent part 3 having a first refractive index in a substantial cross section triangular shape laminated on the shading part 4, and a high refractive index translucent resin layer 5 having a second refractive index higher than the first refractive index so as to cover the solid shading layer 2 formed of a two-layer structure of the shading part 4 and the solid transparent part 3.
