PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation membrane used to separate, through permeation, an alcohol selectively from a liquid mixture, e.g. a water/alcohol mixture. SOLUTION: The separation membrane comprises keeping zeolite fixed onto the support, e.g. a gas-permeable woven and/or knitted fabric. The zeolite is fixed onto the support with a reaction product of an amino-containing silane compound with a boron compound and a coating agent containing glassy gel comprising a hydrolysate of a metal alkoxide.
