A method of producing a rubber product, comprising the step of: moulding a material that will vulcanize and thereby form said rubber product, wherein said vulcanisation is a thermally activated vulcanisation. The method comprises a further step of mixing with said material a plurality of compressible, hollow particles, each of which comprises a polymer shell.
