<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser having a wavelength plate highly accurately stuck thereto. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser is provided with a laser chip, a stem member for placing the laser chip, and a cap member fixed to the stem member so as to cover the laser chip.
