<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium having high user-friendliness, which improves the image quality of a recorded matter, or can relax the restriction conditions on the side of an ink jet recording apparatus while maintaining the image quality of a recorded matter. <P>SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording medium having an ink absorbing layer on a base material, the ink absorbing layer has pores absorbing ink, the lower layer of the surface of the ink jet recording medium or/and the lower layer of the ink absorbing layer has a pattern in a planar direction whose state is physically and/or chemically different, and the distance of the shortest part in one cycle of a pattern in the planar direction is made larger than the average cycle of the pores and smaller than 30 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
