摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a transition metal based compound for a lithium secondary battery positive electrode material in a short time and efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: A temperature raising speed in a raising temperature process at the time of calcination is 2&deg;C/min. or less and calcination can be done at a high temperature and in a short time without making sintered lumps and without impairing physical properties and characteristics of a transition metal based compound to be obtained. It is desirable that a holding time for calcination is 30 minutes or longer and 20 hours or shorter, and a holding temperature is 800&deg;C or higher and 1100&deg;C or lower. By slowing down the temperature raising speed in the temperature raising process at calcination, a production yield of sieving after calcination even if the holding temperature is raised and the physical properties and characteristics of the transition metal based compound to be obtained are not impaired, and the transition metal based compound can be manufactured by calcination at a high temperature and in a shorter time and efficiently as compared with a conventional method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
