PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a network connection that secures security without impairing convenience, while minimizing the load on a security center. SOLUTION: A method of controlling a network connection includes: a step of determining if security measures taken at a computer are at or above a certain level; a step of permitting direct connections to a network if the security measures taken at the computer are at or above the certain level; and a step of making a connection to the security center in a manner that makes it possible to secure security and permitting connections to the network via the security center, the security center being connected to the network and providing security measures to communications with the network.
