PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To upgrade characteristics of a ceramic package or a flat display device and the like by improving a refractory filler powder to enhancing fluidity of a sealing material in the sealing material containing a bismuth-based glass powder and the refractory filler powder. SOLUTION: The sealing material according to the present invention contains the bismuth-based glass powder and the refractory filler powder wherein the content of the refractory filler powder is 5-50 vol%, and the refractory filler powder particle is approximately spherical.
