PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To designate a transit point that readily specifies a destination. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus for searching for a route leading to a destination via a transit point is provided with a destination designation means (4a) for designating a destination; a transit-point designation means (4b) for designating a transit point; a potential transit-point setting means (4c) for setting a potential transit point corresponding to the destination; an information storage means (3) for storing the information necessary for navigation; a routing means (4d) for reading the information in the information storage means and searching for a route, leading to the destination via the designated transit point; and a control means (4e) for presenting the potential transit point, set corresponding to the designation, when the destination is designated. When the potential transit point presented by the control means is designated as transit point, the routing means searches for the route leading to the destination via the designated transit point.
