PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device having a margin space for defect management and its management information. SOLUTION: The reproducing device is provided for reproducing data from a disk including an initial margin space allotted during initialization and additional margin space allotted and/or enlarged after initialization, wherein the reproducing device includes a pickup part for reading out data from the disk, and a control part controlling the pickup so as to read out the data and reproducing the data read out from the disk using the additional margin space, the enlarged additional margin space is allotted from the rear part of a data area to the front part, a defective block in the enlarged additional margin space is not used as a margin block.
