The invention relates to covering, chromophore and/or effect-producing films, whereby (A) the film comprises a pigmented plastic carrier film (A) having a thickness of greater 500 µm, and (B) at least one pigmented, covering chromophore and/or effect-producing layer is applied to said carrier film. The color of the carrier film (A) and the color of the chromophore and/or effect-producing layer (B) are adapted to match each other. The invention also relates to methods for producing the films and to their use.
