Disclosed are a backlight unit having an optical film in which a micro-curved portion faces a light guide plate, and a display device having the backlight unit. A backlight unit according to the present invention comprises a light source; a light guide plate guiding light emitted from the light source to cause the light to exit; and an optical film collecting light incident from the light guide plate to cause the collected light to exit, wherein peak and valley portions constituting an optical pattern portion are repeatedly formed on a surface of the optical film corresponding to the light guide plate, and a plurality of scattering patterns are formed in a peak region of each of the peak portions to allow the peak region to be non-sharpened and distribute incident light.
