<p>It is intended to provide a safety pharmacological test method whereby highly accurate electrocardiography can be carried out over a long period of time under neither anesthesia nor restraint without affected by various factors such as contamination with a muscular current or noises caused by an animal's movement, a shift in the cardiac electrical axis caused by a change in the body position, a disorder in the base line, a change in the wave pattern and so on. This method comprises: the step of preparing a telemetry apparatus which has a telemeter receiver, a telemeter transmitter provided with a biopotential signal transmission unit and a power source, and electrocardiographic electrodes connected to the transmitter; the step of fixing the electrocardiographic electrodes to the myocardial layer located inside the epicardium of a nonhuman animal and embedding the transmitter at a definite site of the animal body; the step of administering a substance to be tested in the safety pharmacological test to the animal; and the step of receiving the biopotential signal of the animal, to which the test substance has been administered, under neither anesthesia nor restraint by the telemeter receiver located outside the body, measuring the electrocardiography by analyzing the signal and thus conducting a test on the cardiovascular system in the safety pharmacological test.</p> |
