<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new liquid crystal composition useful for preparation of film or the like having optical anisotropy. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal composition comprises at least one kind of compound selected from compounds represented by general formula (1) (wherein A<SP>1</SP>and A<SP>2</SP>are each independently -O-, -NR- or the like; Z represents a carbon atom or the like and forms 5- or 6-membered ring together with C-C=C-C or C=C-C=C; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each independently a substituent; m is an integer of 0-4; L<SP>1</SP>and L<SP>2</SP>are each a linking group; X is a nonmetal atom such as carbon, with the proviso that the compound has at least one polymerizable group) in which Δn is reverse wavelength dispersion in a visual light area, and at least one kind of liquid crystal compound in which Δn is forward wavelength dispersion in a visual light area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
