POINTING DEVICE, PROGRAM FOR MAKING COMPUTER TO CORRECT ERROR BETWEEN OPERATOR'S GAZE POSITION AND CURSOR POSITION, AND COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM WITH THE PROGRAM RECORDED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device that can easily correct an error between an operator's gaze position and a cursor position.

SOLUTION: A sight line detection device 2 uses image information about an operator's eye acquired by an imaging device 1 to detect a sight line to the operator's gaze position on the screen of a display 4, and calculates coordinate information about a cursor 6 indicating a position of input on the screen of the display 4 from the detection result. The sight line detection device 2 also detects the operator's movement due to an error between the position of the cursor 6 displayed on the screen of the display 4 and the operator's gaze position 7 according to the calculated coordinate information. The sight line detection device 2 then moves the operator's feature image information acquired by the imaging device 1 according to the detected operator's movement to correct the error.
