PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a coil by winding a conductive wire around the pole section of a core and further to efficiently terminate the coil, in compact and economical constitution. SOLUTION: This stator core manufacturing apparatus is equipped with a table 42 which has core mounts 40, core holding jigs 44 which allow laminated steel plates 14 to be attached and detached freely, an index means 46 which arranges the core holding jigs 44 in order, corresponding to each station, a table lifting means 48 which lifts and lowers the above table 42, a fixing means 160 which fixes the above core holding jig 44, in the down position of the above table 42, on one hand, and releases the fixation of the core holding jig 44, in the up position of the above table 42, on the other, and a pressing means 102 which presses and holds the core holding jigs 44 on the above core mounts 40, when the above core holding jigs 44 are indexed.
