PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile wireless device which can change an authentication cycle to be used for wireless authentication during authentication mode. SOLUTION: The mobile wireless device 1 performs carrier sensing of a first authentication cycle at a predetermined cycle 2T in order to receive a signal sent from a device 21 for authentication which has moved to authentication mode. When the mobile wireless device 1 receives, on a first point of time, a request signal for changing the authentication cycle to a second one which comes from the device 21 for authentication, it performs carrier sensing of the second authentication cycle at the predetermined cycle 2T from a second point of time with an elapse of at least a predetermined cycle from the first point of time.
