PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce short circuit failure caused by a cut burr of a foil end surface as a large number of circuits while suppressing an increase in ESR of a capacitor in order to solve the problem that the porosity rate of an electrolytic paper reduces and the density increases as a whole, resulting in an increase in the ESR of the capacitor, reduction in liquid preservability of an electrolyte and the difficulty in impregnation of the electrolyte of a wound capacitor element in a method of processing the entire surface of the electrolytic paper to improve short circuit failure in a conventional aluminum electrolytic capacitor in which an aluminum is employed as an anode and a cathode and wound via a separator to form a capacitor element, and the capacitor element is housed in a case with a sealing plate together with the electrolyte. SOLUTION: In the aluminum electrolytic capacitor, an end paper is additionally laminated and wound on both width ends of the electrolytic paper. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
