A block copolymer comprising a block (b1) and a block (b2) and/or (b3), wherein (b1) contains a polymerization unit represented by the defined formula (1), (b2) contains a polymerization unit represented thereby, and has attributes different from those of (b1), and (b3) contains a polymerization unit of an olefin, the formula (1) being derived from a diene compound represented by the defined formula (3) such as 2,2-dimethyl-5,5-diallyl-1,3-dioxane; and a process for producing a block copolymer, comprising the step of making the blocks (b1) and (b2) and/or (b3).
