PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum foil material for aluminum etching foil, in which through pits are formed by DC electrolytic etching and etching pits penetrate in the thickness direction of the foil material and which is 15 to 50μm thick and has improved capacitance and practically satisfactory bending strength. SOLUTION: In this aluminum foil material, the proportion of crystal grains penetrating in the thickness direction of the foil material, that is, penetrating grains is≥80%, when observed in a cross section perpendicular to the rolling direction of the foil material.
