<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a target object appropriately even if the period of pulse from an encoder is increased. <P>SOLUTION: The document reading apparatus includes: a speed calculation unit for calculating a speed related to rotation of an electric motor based on the pulse of an encoder; and a control unit for calculating the amount of control based on the calculated speed and controlling the rotation of the electric motor by using the amount of control. If there is no change of the pulse of the encoder for a predetermined time, the control unit controls the electric motor, by increasing the amount of control based on the time elapsed from the previous pulse change. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
