PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper carrying device capable of smoothly inverting paper by adjusting a curvature radius of the bent face of a turn guide on a carrying passage for a single piece of paper. SOLUTION: Inversion transfer faces 733, 734 of guide ribs 731, 732 of the turn guide 730 have shapes of curved surfaces from an inversion start point side corresponding to a first carrying face to an inversion end point corresponding to a second carrying face, and guide ribs having the same curvature radii are connected as guide rib groups 736, 738. The guide rib groups 736, 738 are provided movably between an action position capable of guiding paper by connection to the first and second carrying faces and a retract position capable of guiding paper by separation from the first and second carrying faces.
