PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor carpet placing structure for preventing the surface waviness and the end turn of a carpet due to the displacement of the outer peripheral edge of the carpet mounted on a vehicle body even when a load operates near the outer peripheral edge of the carpet. SOLUTION: In the structure of placing the carpet 31 on a vehicle floor 1, a fourth spacer 19 is installed on in the recessed portion 2b of a floor panel 2, a lower side sound absorbing material 33 is placed on an upper face 19b of the fourth spacer 19, an upper side sound absorbing material 32 is placed on the upper face of the lower side sound absorbing material 33, and the carpet 31 is placed on the upper face of the upper side sound absorbing material 32.
