PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box-shaped game machine which suppresses fraudulent actions to a board case by leaving the mark when the board case is detached. SOLUTION: The box-shaped game machine relating to this invention comprises: a base member 60; a cover member 65 for closing an insertion port 16a from the inner side of a cabinet box 1; and a mounting holding mechanism 70 for holding the state that the cover member 65 is mounted on the base member 60. The mounting holding mechanism 70 is configured so as to hold the state that the cover member 65 is mounted on the base member 60 by engaging a base side engaging part 71 connected to the base member 60 and a cover side engaging part 73 connected to the cover member 65 through a connecting member 75 and to detach the cover member 65 from the base member 60 by cutting the connection part 74 with the cover member 65 in the cover side engaging part 73 engaged with the base side engaging part 71.
