<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a computational complexity when estimating a correspondence point, without impairing an image of high quality. <P>SOLUTION: This resolution converter has a first setting means for setting one by one a plurality of pixels in one or more of frames included in the image comprising the plurality of pixels, as the marked pixels; a boundary direction estimating means for setting a search range for the plurality of correspondence points corresponding to the marked pixel in response to a boundary direction of a local pattern that is a spatial change of a pixel value, in an area including the marked pixel, and for estimating the boundary direction of the local pattern; a correspondence point searching means for calculating a point where a difference between the local patterns of the marked pixel and the correspondence point gets small, twice or more in the one marked pixel, at sub-pixel precision, from the search range; a second setting means for setting the pixel value of the marked pixel as a sample value in the position of the correspondence point; and a pixel value calculating means for calculating the image in response to the sample value and the arrangement of the plurality of correspondence points. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
