<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise precision of a personal identification device by preventing erroneous updating of stored data for collation. <P>SOLUTION: The personal identification device 1 includes: a face information storing part 7 where a first face characteristics information representing characteristics of the face of a specific person are related to ID and password in advance and stored; a camera 5 for photographing images of faces of persons 3a, 3b,... 3n to be identified; a face characteristics value extracting part which generates second face characteristics information representing face characteristics of the person to be identified based on the photographed face image; a collation process part which collates first and second face characteristics information with each other for identifying a face of the person to be identified; a display-operation part 2 which, if the result of face identification is negative, displays an ID-password input request screen containing the face image of the person to be identified who has been photographed; and a data updating part which, if the inputted ID and password were stored in the face information storing part 7, updates the first face characteristics information related to the ID and password based on the second face characteristics information corresponding to the face image of the person to be identified which is displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
