PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for discriminating the operating state of a switch provided in a monitored apparatus or the like inexpensively by simple circuitry. SOLUTION: A notification switch 111 indicating the operating state of the monitored section 110 in a monitored apparatus 100 is connected with the DC power supply 212 of the monitoring section 210 in a monitoring apparatus 200 through a monitoring line 210a. The monitoring line 210a is inserted into the space on the inside of a core 211a constituting an AC current component detector 211. A detection winding 211b wound around the core 211a detects an AC current component contained in the rising part or the falling part of a monitoring current when the notification switch 111 is turned on or off. A discrimination circuit 215 discriminates the change in operating state of the notification switch 111 based on the AC current component detected by the detection winding 211b.
