PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit, and a robot device, with further improved impact resistance compared with conventional devices. SOLUTION: Between a gear 22 pivotally supported by a fixed shaft 21A and a rotary table 24, a coupling 25 is provided to be perpendicularly slidable respectively to the rotation axis direction of the gear 22 and the rotation axis direction of the rotary table 24. Impact added to the rotary table 24 is thus absorbed by sliding of the coupling 25 with the gear 22 and the rotary table 24. Direct application of the impact to the fixed shaft 21A is thus prevented. Breakage of the fixed shaft 21 due to impact added to the rotary table 24 is also prevented. Impact resistance can thus be further improved compared with conventional devices.
