PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent crack in a control valve type lead acid battery, which is possibly caused at a root of a rib in the vicinity of a center of an interior wall of an outer side in parallel with a partition of a battery case, owing to pressure reduction based on gas absorption reaction of the control valve type lead acid battery when trickle charge and/or long-term idling takes place. SOLUTION: In a monoblock battery case consisting of a plurality of cells, a rib provided on an interior wall of an outer side in parallel with a partition has a width in a height direction, whose center portion is made to be maximum in a width direction of the outer side so as to follow stress caused by pressure reduction, and a control valve type lead acid battery that achieves the object is thereby provided.
