PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve saturation magnetization of an Fe nanoparticle synthesized by a pyrolysis method, and to improve high frequency permeability properties of a magnetic material. SOLUTION: Fe(CO)<SB>5</SB>is used as an Fe source, oleylamine is used as a surfactant, octyl ether, kerosine or their mixture from which dissolved oxygen and moisture are removed by a lyophilization method is used as a solvent, and an Fe nanoparticle is produced by using a pyrolysis method. Together with the reduction of oxygen in a reaction system, the saturation magnetization Ms is increased, and Ms reaches 115 emu/g in the case of the octyl ether only, and reaches 153 emu/g in the case of the kerosine only. From this result, it is found that the reduction of Ms by oxygen in the molecular structure of the solvent is seen in the range where an oxygen/iron molar ratio is higher than 10, but, by controlling the oxygen/ion molar ratio to≤10, the influence of oxygen can be reduced. In this way, the saturation magnetization of a magnetic material can be improved, and its high frequency permeability properties can be improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
