PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving the durability of a casting made of a shape memory alloy while maintaining its surface properties. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a casting made of a shape memory alloy, at first, a shape memory alloy whose composition is regulated to the one exhibiting shape memory properties in a using temperature range is casted in a desired shape (S4), next, the casting obtained by the casting is subjected to supersonic shot peening (S6), and then, the casting subjected to the supersonic shot peening is subjected to shape memorizing heat treatment (S8).
