SKIN CARE PREPARATION FOR EXTERNAL APPLICATION CONTAINING FURAN FATTY ACID OR DERIVATIVE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for ameliorating serious skin inflammation such as atopic dermatitis that exhibits good ameliorating effects. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation for external application comprises a furan fatty acid represented by general formula (1) or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof. Preferably, the furan fatty acid represented by general formula (1) is ethyl 11-(3,4-dimethyl-5-pentylfuran-2-yl)undecanoate. The skin care preparation for external application preferably contains the furan fatty acid represented by general formula (1) and/or a salt thereof as an antiinflammatory agent. In the formula, R1, R2, R3and R4are each independently a hydrogen atom, or an optionally substituted 1-8C alkyl or alkenyl group; and n is an integer of 3-30. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
