<p>The invention relates to a method of determining the tumor cell content of a sample from a patient suffering from or at risk of developing a neoplastic disease, comprising the steps of : (a) isolating total RNA from the sample and (b) determining the expression level of at least one tumor cell content (TCC) marker gene. A selection of highly informative TCC marker genes is given.</p>
