<p>A sliding type constant velocity universal joint that can be assembled with improved workability is obtained without an increase in the weight of the joint and without a reduction in durability of an inner ring. In a cage (5), the axial center (A) of a spherical inner peripheral surface (18) is located on the inner side from the axial center (B) of a spherical outer peripheral surface (19). An inner end surface (15) of the inner ring (3) and an inner bottom surface (16) of an outer ring (2) are adapted so that they can be in surface contact with each other when a shaft (9) is press fitted into a shaft hole (21) of the inner ring (3). A surface contact portion (25), which is a portion of the inner end surface (15) of the inner ring (3) and comes into surface contact with the inner bottom surface (16) of the outer ring (2), is formed as a tapered surface radially inclined a° to the inner ring's center side. A surface contact portion (26), which is a portion of the inner bottom surface (16) of the outer ring (2) and comes into surface contact with the inner end surface (15) of the inner ring (3), is formed as a tapered surface having a shape matching with the surface contact portion (25) of the inner ring (3).</p> |
