PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of surely transmitting a signal even when the characteristic impedance of a coaxial cable has changed. SOLUTION: The receiver 30 is connected to a transmitter 10 by an electrical communication line 20; receives a transmission signal transmitted from the transmitter 10 via the electrical communication line 20; and is provided with a detection circuit (light-receiving element 34, amplifier circuit 35) which receives transmitted light transmitted from the transmitter 10 via an optical conduction line 22 deformably provided, in accordance with deformation generated in the electrical communication line 20, and detects the attenuation of the transmitted light, according to the deformation of the optical conduction line 22; and a correction circuit 32, which corrects signal waveform of the transmission signal received from the transmitter via the electrical communication line, according to the attenuation of the transmitted light detected by the detection circuit.
