PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air pump capable of reducing vibration and a vibration sound, or capable of preventing chattering of a contact point of a detection switch of air pressure of suction-exhaust. SOLUTION: This air pump is provided for sucking and exhausting air in a pump room, by amplifying a diaphragm A by rotation of an eccentric cam installed on an output shaft of an electric motor, by orthogonally arranging the output shaft of the electric motor and the pump room formed of the diaphragm A on a metallic fixing base formed in a crank shape, or is constituted for restraining the vibration of a film generated by a pressure variation in the air by a thick part of large inertial mass, by arranging the ring-shaped thick part in a film part of the diaphragm A, or can be attained by operating the detection switch by this diaphragm, by arranging the diaphragm B movable by a pressure variation in an air chamber, by forming the air chamber in an upper part of a check valve on the intake port side.
