PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert for use in a state of being mounted on a body of a boring tool, and improving a dynamic balance and rigidity of a tool body by making a notched part of the tool body smaller, and performing positional adjustment easily with high accuracy. SOLUTION: Provided is an insert 50 mounted on a boring tool provided with a mounting seat 31 and a pressing member 40 for pressing the insert 50 to adjust a radial position of an outer circumferential cutting blade, and has: a flat plate shape with one of the surfaces directed in a thickness direction set as a seating surface 51; the other surface directed in the thickness direction set as a peripheral relief 52; a surface directed in the rear side in the rotation direction of the tool in a state of being mounted on the mounting seat 31 set as a pressed surface 61; and a side face directed in the front side in the rotation direction of the tool set as a rake face 54, wherein the outer circumferential cutting edge is formed at a ridge line part of the outside in the radial direction of the rake face 54.
