The general field of the invention is that of viewing devices used for managing complex systems. The viewing device comprises the following functionalities: - the information of one and the same type is disposed in a given plane (L1, L2 and L3); - the various planes are presented superimposed on a viewing screen; - the device comprises control means making it possible to select any one of said planes; - the selected plane is displayed in the foreground; - the non-selected planes are displayed in the background, the intrinsic visibility of the information of said non-selected planes being substantially decreased.
