On the other hand, in the case that the battery pack 1 and the electronic equipment 50 are not connected, the state detection terminal 18 is in an open state, so that the terminal is in an "indefinite state". That is, a signal from the clock terminal 16 is not inputted into the state detection terminal 18, so that the two signals do not necessarily coincide with each other. Therefore, when signals of the state detection terminal 18 and the clock terminal 16 coincide with each other, the battery pack 1 and the electronic equipment 50 are determined to be physically connected, and when the two signals do not coincide, the battery pack 1 and the electronic equipment 50 are determined not to be physically connected.
