PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means by which the strain of Aspergillus species, exemplified by a brewage-associated Aspergillus strain Aspergillus oryzae, can be differentiated more precisely than by conventional methods. SOLUTION: The method for differentiating the strain of the Aspergillus species includes differentiating the strain by using a repeated sequence length polymorphism, in at least one kind of specific simple repeated sequences present in a genome DNA of the Aspergillus strain as an index.
